Northern Soccer Club has Strong Showing at Durango Shootout
The Durango Shootout (Durango, CO) has long been a Mother’s Day weekend tradition for youth soccer teams from across the Southwest and once again Northern Soccer Club teams showed up in force. All totaled, nine (9) Northern Soccer Club teams descended upon the Durango Shootout the weekend of May 11th-13th with seven (7) teams placing within the top three (3) of their respective divisions.
Leading the way was the Northern SC Arsenal, a U13 girls’ team, which brought home the tournament title having finished the weekend with 3 wins, 0 losses, and 1 tie. Throughout the weekend these ladies scored eight (8) goals while conceding only twice in the top flight of the U13 divisions. Also placing within their divisions were the Northern SC Galaxy (U11 Boys), Northern SC Galacticos (U12 Boys), Northern SC Real United (U14 Boys), Northern SC Chivas (U15 Girls), and the Northern SC K’Boom (U18 Girls).
Typically it’s the Northern SC Duke City (competitive level) teams that venture to Durango each spring, but this year one (1) U10 Boys’ team from the Northern Mountain League also made the trip and proved to be ready for the experience. The U10 Boys Northern SC Loco Lobos finished in second place in the Shootout’s Silver ‘A’ Division in what was their first competitive tournament.
Congratulations to all of our Northern SC teams for an outstanding showing away from home!
